One of the best Italian restaurants in London at any price, Zucca has been praised for producing accessible and (more) authentic Italian food cooked to perfection and pitched at affordable prices.
Located on Bermondsey Street just south of the river, it can be found on a newly hip street of shops and restaurants; the interior feels minimal, modern and pure, but service is warm and the restaurant is bright and airy.
The menu is short and focused on doing a few things well - there are starters, a small pasta section and then a couple of choices each of fish and meat.
However, everything on the menu tends to be very good - pappardelle pasta with pork and fennel sauce is popular, as is the veal chop with spinach and lemon.
Wines are also reasonably priced and as the lights die down in the evening, what is a bright and airy lunch spot also makes an excellent location to share a meal with friends.
