Odette’s is run by the chef Bryn Williams, who has made something more than a little special – it is quite possibly one of the most romantic restaurants in London, and has an intimate, bespoke feel. It's clientele consists of a selection of the affluent Primrose Hill locals, a smattering of couples and foodies and fans of chef Williams.
The food is British with a heavy leaning to the chef’s Welsh origins, and is sourced, cooked and prepared to the highest of standards. Simple preparations of no more than a few main ingredients are the order of the day, and are intensely prepared to enhance the natural flavours and let the produce shine - Williams favours seafood and humble ingredients. A pork terrine with crackling and pickled mushrooms is a wonderful starter, while roasted turbot with braised oxtail, samphire and cockles is glorious. The weekend lunch is an institution and offers terrific value for money.
The location on the cusp of Primrose Hill is also an obvious draw – the views over the London skyline before and after a glamorous, pampered romantic dinner are nothing short of breathtaking.
