Fernandez and Wells

Panning for Gold
Small, tucked away, seemingly hidden, Fernandez and Wells is surprises as much as it does beg for a map for you to find it. Beak Street, just off Regent's Street is where F&S calls home and, once you're there, you'll wish you could too. Still, if you're a local, you can at least call it a regular because the quality of food, speed and politeness of service and the comfort of atmosphere will guarantee a repeat visit.
That Moment When...
The coffee here is often billed as the best-poured cup in London. The sandwiches could be used as chocks to support a rowing boat, such is their size and bulk. The cakes and pastries are also exquisite and it's only when you try them for yourself will you realise their true nature - no review (even though they're 99% positive) will quite cut the mustard. However, here's a recommendation from My Guide: try the lomo sandwich. Lomo is dry-cured pork tenderloin - very popular in Spain - and, inside the cafe itself, there's a leg of meat dangling from a hook in the ceiling over which you can drool before consumption.
So, if you're ever in need of some light relief from the bustling Regent's Street, head to this place. It's not the type of place to hang around in, but you'll receive top quality snacks and coffee that stays true to the dregs every time.
