Cattle Grid

As you know, since this is the 'Steaks and Grills' category, Cattle Grid is a meat-eater's heaven (however, they do do a great selection of salads, and the option of a flat mushroom on your burger instead of a wedge of flesh). Situated on Norhtcote road between two areas of parkland - Spencer Park and Clapham Common - Cattle Grid will satiate any carnivorous appetite with the chunkiest of cuts from both pig and cow.

Looking at the menu you can see it's as bulky as the cuts on offer. There are eleven different types of burger, all available with either beef, chicken, or a flat mushroom as the main filling. Toppings? Eighteen to choose from including examples such as herb & garlic butter, blue cheese sauce, chilli & garlic butter, a fried egg, even haggis. In terms of proper meaty dishes, there are whole racks and half racks of baby back ribs or peri-peri ribs. The steaks are substantial with 10oz rumps, sirloins, rib-eyes and T-bones; a 7oz fillet; a 6oz steak sandwich and a slow-cooked beef sandwich.

Prices at Cattle Grid are more than reasonable, otherwise expected. You won't break the bank here and you'll definitely fill any hunger-hole that might've formed in your stomach throughout the day. It's the perfect place for big eaters with friends and family because the atmosphere is as wild as the animals on the menu once were.
