The first Moti Mahal restaurant was opened in 1959 in Delhi by two families. Ever since then, the families established various Moti Mahal restaurants all over India until they have decided to expand globally and opened their first restaurant in London in 2005 trusting the expertise of the Head Chef Anirudh. The restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine with on Great Queen Street in the heart of the capital.
Anirudh insist of only using the finest staff, the freshest ingredients available and the best preparation possible for his cooking. As the former personal chef for India's prime minister, the Head Chef has gained a lot of culinary experience in the most exclusive eateries in India. The menu at the Moti Mahal includes dishes such as various curries based on recipes from Mangalore, New Delhi and even Mongolia. It further offers seared scallops with sesame seeds, stir-fried lobster and tandoor roasted lamb chops with Kashmiri chillies. Anirudh explains on the menu how he came across the recipes and where they are from which is an interesting and exciting way of helping guests choose their meal. A variety of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks is available to complement your dish.
The dining room of the Moti Mahal is elegant and sophisticated. Muted light and soft colours set the mood for a relaxing meal. Modern and unique chandeliers, the long bar and tall nicely shaped windows make the dining room special and memorable. The attentive and genuinely friendly waiting staff is happy to serve you Monday to Friday for lunch between 12:00 - 15:00 hrs and for dinner Monday to Saturday 17:30 - 23:30 hrs and 17:30 - 22.45 hrs on Sunday.
